Happy October! The weather in Toronto decided to drop about 20 degrees in a day, and has stayed consistently nippy, which I'm loving after a summer of extreme heat. Something about this time of year inspires me to really focus on my goals and prioritize the things that matter most to me.
Check out a few things I've been loving lately:
Personal Growth: I loved this episode from Manifestation Babe about how your subconscious could be blocking you from achieving those things that you claim to want more than anything. I actually recently saw this play out in an interesting way in my own life in my new business - and am moving towards being aware of this in the future.
Career: I've started a business! I'm now offering freelance writing + web design services on top of my 9-5. Loved this article from fellow entrepreneur and graduate of BB courses that teach you how to start a service-based online business that allows you to create a location-independent lifestyle. Waking up at 5:00 am is my new reality - pursuing my goals and sleep deprivation are going hand-in-hand in this season of life.
Cooking: Been obsessed with flatbreads lately on weeknights - aka grabbing pizza dough from the local bakery, doing a clean-out-the-fridge assessment of pesto, sauces, greens, and all vegetables that can somehow create an appealing quick dinner. Last night was sundried tomato pesto, caramelized onion, raw garlic, sauteed mushrooms, feta, and kale (turns into kale chip pizza under the broiler - trust me!)
Healthy Idea: Run out of almond milk and have your hot cup of coffee in hand? Bet you've never made oat milk. Blend up a couple tablespoons of rolled or quick oats with a half cup of water, strain, and you've got your own DIY plant-based milk.
